High and Noble Calling

Throughout my day, I have to continually remind myself to keep going. Okay Anna, keep moving, clean off the table, change the diaper, pick up the toys, wrestle with the kids, etc. It seems like my list of things to do never ends and it only increases. A continual increase. But there is one thing I am sure of, every time I decide to serve one of my kids or my husband, I do it unto the Lord. He sees my heart and He knows my thoughts. One person prophesied over me that he saw me going about the routine mundane business of being a mom and every time I did something, an old fashion cash register in heaven would sound out “ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching”. And each and every time I would receive more reward in heaven.

Honestly, that keeps me going. Knowing that I am doing what I’m doing unto the Lord. No one else but Him. My reward is not on this side of eternity. May you be encouraged to be a mom today. You are daily laying your life down for your husband and your children and it is a glorious thing in the sight of the Lord. Keep going. This is a high and noble calling! For we want Him to say “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

I pray that the Lord blesses you today with energy in the mundane. May you have renewed grace and vision today!

  1. yeah Anna, welcome to blogging!

Judson Cornwall once said that raising children and caring for our family unto the Lord was one of the highest forms of worship.

  2. Hi Anna,

You don’t know me, but we used to live in Kansas City and were involved with IHOP for 3 years. We now have 10 children, the oldest 18, youngest 9 months (and walking already!) I relate to you even though I’m a much older mom.

I admire the wisdom and insight you already have. That is God revealing to you the importance of your job as a mom and the way He loves how you serve your family.

While I was at IHOP, I went to the Prophecy Rooms regularly. Your dad was on one team that prophesied over me. And when I was pregnant I went to Prenatal Prayer — Love, love, love those people who work in those ministries. God touched my heart and showed me how pleased He is with the job I’m doing with my children. I needed it so badly.

I’m glad that you are encouraging moms with the things you write on your blog. It’s a very needed ministry.

I came over here from the Loux’s blog. I enjoyed reading your blog and seeing the pictures of your beautiful family.

    Love,
    Penney Douglas

Thank you, Anna. You must have written this a while ago, but I’m so encouraged today by these words. I needed this. I needed to stop fussing, let the Lord correct my heart and get my compass pointed in the right direction again. These words are so joyful and full of Life and righteousness. Thank you.
